Don't be so mean. That is what God put us on earth to do help one another. I am going to pray that you never have to fall to a misfortune where you will need help from another person. May God Bless You.

This is the VERY ignorance and attitude that prevents people from succeeding in life. Attitude such as this pigeon-hole people and prevent them from obtaining the skills they need to survive and get out of the never-ending cycle of poverty. Without the necessary skills, knowledge, and resources, it is no easier to escape poverty than it is to cure cancer without the proper treatment. Attitudes such as this literally condemn people to impoverished lives. It is no different than racism, homophobia, etc. Education goes further than educating ourselves to the resources available to us, job skills, or a college degree. Education means educating the public to the plight we, as Americans, face everyday: the lack of medical insurance, the impossible “living” wage available to workers, the outsourcing of labor, the lack of education and funding for that education, the lack of responsibility of deadbeat parents and the lack of legal assistance for the custodial parent to raise their children. These are just SOME of the issues we face EVERYDAY, in THE US. Being a single parent is difficult enough, having to deal with ignorance from people who do not have one iota of understanding should not even be an issue. A statement such as your amounts to telling a paraplegic, "Get over it, you can walk, why do you need a wheelchair?" Sounds idiotic, doesn't it? Next time, please check your facts PRIOR to making a statement. If this is the NEXT generation that is expected to care for our planet, I fear for all of us. Educate yourself and others, end the cycle of poverty. It is the one disease that is completely curable.
